Can I get earwax removal if I have a communicable blood or skin condition/infection?
We believe all patients should be able to access the audiology care they need, whether that is directly from us or by us supporting a clinical referral to a specialist service. Before delivering wax removal services in stores, clinicians will ask a series of health-related questions at the start of your appointment. These questions are based on clinical guidance from our professional bodies and are used by all our clinicians to determine the most appropriate provision of care. Where a patient meets any of the criteria for requiring specialist care we would make the appropriate onward referral to ensure that they get the care they need.

To ensure all patients receive the best care possible, our clinicians will work within a set scope of practice, with guidance developed using evidence-based research provided by professional and clinical bodies, while specific guidance for clinicians in Ireland is currently being developed.
