No - contact lenses don't hurt, but at first you might be slightly 'aware' of them being there.
Your contact lenses shouldn't be uncomfortable, but if you experience any discomfort or irritation you should try rinsing them with saline before reinserting them.
If the problem continues, visit your optician as soon as possible.
