How is retinitis pigmentosa treated?
Unfortunately, there's no current treatment.
However, intensive research is being done all over the world to identify the causes, means of prevention and possible treatments.
One school of thought thinks that high doses of vitamin A can slow down retinal degeneration, but there's very little evidence to support this.
If you do have retinitis pigmentosa, you should contact your optician or GP before considering this option.
