Help and frequently asked questions

What is the fovea?

Answer:

This is a small pit or depression at the centre of the macula, which contains specialised colour-sensitive cones and is the area giving our clearest, sharpest vision.

When we look at an object, the part of the image that is focused on the fovea is the part that is seen in the most detail.
