Help and frequently asked questions

My child had a hearing test at school and we received a letter saying they had struggled. They have had a cold and have seen an ENT specialist but have no ear problems. Should this be checked further?

Answer:

It is very common for young children to have fluctuating hearing problems, particularly in the winter and if she has had a prolonged cold. Unless you are particularly concerned about her hearing, it may be prudent to adopt a 'watchful waiting' approach for the time being.

If you notice any signs of hearing difficulties once her cold has cleared up and once the weather gets a bit warmer, that would be the time to contact your GP for further investigation.
